This is a 61k mi, 2owner 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa.

The Targa's design reduces its overall rigidity compared to the Coupe—which is why for some time it was looked down upon since it was less effective on the track. But in an era when 800hp beasts roam the circuits every weekend and classic Porsche racing becomes less and less common... the only thing that really matters is the answer to one simple question: Is it still fun to drive?

Yes. The answer is a resounding yes. Having spent a good deal of time in and around aircooled Porsche 911s, I think it's fair to say that nothing quite matches up to the sheer driving pleasure of a 3.2 Carrera (especially when it's mated to a G50). But beyond that—bring a Targa top into the mix and you have yourself one of the most gratifying, forgiving, and allaround joyful aircooled 911s on the road today. On the windy backroads of New England, I would take a wellappointed Targa over a Coupe any day of the week. All the opentop fun you get with a Cabriolet, but without the hassle and rain leaks.

And in the case of this '89, I haven't personally crossed paths with a better example. It's got a decent amount of miles on the clock and has certainly been welldriven—but in my mind that means this Targa has only just entered its prime.
