1976 Ford Bronco 4x4 Custom 351W/400HP – “The Ultimate Good Time Cruiser”

This exciting 1976 Ford Bronco 4x4 Custom is the ultimate good time cruiser that was built to be userfriendly and enjoyed. It is in show quality condition throughout and loaded with many custom features. It’s equipped with a custom interior, air conditioning, 351W/402HP V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission, Dana 44 front axle, Ford 9” rear end, power steering and power four wheel disc brakes. The build was completed in 2019 and has 600 test miles since completion. This Bronco runs and drives as super as it looks. It gives you the feeling of a muscle car!

First generation Ford Broncos were produced from 19661977. They were prone to rust issues. This 1976 Ford Bronco was rusty and needed major sheet metal repair. Prior to the build it made sense to replace the entire tub. A new Terra Comp fiberglass tub, fenders and cowl induction hood were ordered and used to replace the original body. The Bronco Tub has ¼” steel reinforced tailgate opening and ¼” steel reinforced Hinges & Latch areas. It comes complete with firewall, floor pan & inner fender panels. The complete Floor Pan is detailed like the factory original. Under floor braces are all applied in the same manner as the steel body. Solid filled for Body mounting. All Panel work is completed to simulate the original steel body and shows seams in the body work. The Bronco cowl induction fiberglass hood tapers to 3 ¼ inches at the rear and the air vent is molded shut. It has a new metal clip which includes the inner fenders and radiator support. It has 1968 Ford Bronco metal doors with removed window frames. The Terra Comp body and panels have multiple advantages. One advantage is the body weighs much less. Another advantage is there’s no chance of bad body work or future rust issues. The comparison would comparable to a Chevrolet Corvette.

The exterior of this Bronco is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. The body is very straight with great gap lines throughout. The body was painted with Glasruit paint which included (L02) “Light Gray” primer, 1967 Ford Mustang (Q) “Brittany Blue” and three layers of clear coat. This color looks fantastic on this Bronco. The paint job is in show quality condition and has been detailed to a brilliant shine. It was treated to a white double pin stripe which was hand painted down the side of the body. The hood and front fenders were wrapped with an invisible bra from Atlantic Wrap to prevent chips. It also sports a white bikini top that gives it the safari look. It sits on custom made 2piece aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich AllTerrain T/A 35x12.50 R15 tires. It’s also equipped with a matching spare wheel and tire.

The interior of this Bronco is also absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. It was tastefully designed and very comfortable with great accessibility to everything. It’s equipped with a custom sound system which includes a Pioneer head unit with Rockford Fosgate tweeters/speakers on the dash, kicker panels and side panels. It’s equipped with power steering which works excellent.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many custom features. The entire engine bay was painted with blue Rhino Liner for durability. Everything in the engine compartment is new. The heart of this Bronco is a Smith Racing 351W V8 that was dyno tested with 402HP. This engine was built for NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon’s fatherinlaw but no documentation is included to support this claim. When the engine was rebuilt and dyno tested it was wrapped on an engine stand until it went into this Bronco. The engine was built with high performance internals and has Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads. The engine breathes through ceramic coated long tube headers and 2 ½ exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt C4 automatic transmission with mild shift kit and Hughes 2400 stall converter. The D20 4x4 transfer case was rebuilt and painted red. It has new driveshafts. It also has MM locking hubs. The Dana 44 front axle was rebuilt. The rebuilt Ford 9” POSI rear end has a Hendrick locker, 31 spline axles and 4.56 gears. The drivetrain in this Bronco is built to perform if desired.

The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many custom features. The underside of this Bronco is mirror quality for a car show. The bottom sides of the floors were painted with blue Rhino Liner for durability. Everything underneath was restored or replaced.
