Over the years Colt has factory chambered 13 different cartridges in 1911pattern pistols and at least 12 more have been adapted to the 1911. No fighting pistol in history has been chambered in so wide a variety of cartridges to perform on such a wide variety of missions. This no FUDD weapons system ... it is just a further example of the Genius of John M. Browning.
