EL PRIMER TORO

El uro euroasiático (Bos primigenius primigenius) es el antepasado de todas las vacas y toros que habitan hoy nuestro planeta. Por desgracia fue cazado hasta su extinción en 1627, cuando se abatió el último ejemplar en Polonia. Los uros eran los mamíferos terrestres más pesados de nuestro continente; solían moverse en manadas de miles de animales, como los búfalos hacen hoy en ciertas zonas de África.

The Eurasian aurochs (Bos primigenius primigenius) is the ancestor of all the cows and bulls that inhabit our planet today. Unfortunately, it was hunted to extinction in 1627, when the last specimen was shot in Poland. The aurochs were the heaviest land mammals on our continent; they used to move in herds of thousands of animals, as buffaloes do today in certain parts of Africa.
