The Komodo Dragon, Varanus komodoensis is the largest species of lizard on the planet. Belonging to the monitor family, they grow to a maximum length of 10 ft (3m) and weigh up to 150 lbs (70 kg). They can run 12 mph (20 km/hr), dive 15 ft (4.5 m), dig 10 ft (3m), and climb trees.
El dragón de Komodo, Varanus komodoensis, es la especie de lagarto más grande del planeta. Perteneciente a la familia de los monitores, crece hasta una longitud máxima de 10 pies (3 m) y pesa hasta 150 libras (70 kg). Pueden correr a 20 km/h (12 mph), bucear 4,5 m (15 pies), excavar 3 m (10 pies) y trepar árboles.
