Breathe With Sandy

In today's fast paced world, where social media addiction often leads us to doom scrolling, it's essential to find ways to ground ourselves and enhance our attention spans. That's why I've designed this 10minute breathwork video using ancient techniques, tailored specifically to help you regain control of your concentration. This practice, performed with open eyes, is aimed at improving focus by teaching you how to anchor your attention on a single object or person in front of you. Much love, Sandy.

We explore the beautiful technique of Trataka in this session. Trataka is a form of meditation that involves staring at a single point or object, such as a candle flame, without blinking, to help concentrate the mind and improve mental focus. In this session we are adding breathwork to help us get out of the overthinking monkey mind and to sharpen our focus. You can do this by gently gazing at any object or if you want to take it a step further, you can do this while looking into a mirror or the eyes of a friend, family member or a partner.

Trataka (sancrit) itself originates from the yogic traditions of India, the concept of focused gazing or concentration on a single point to aid in meditation is not exclusive to Indian culture. Various cultures around the world have similar practices including Tibetan Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism, Indigenous cultures around the word and many more. Its a beautiful practice and can lead to psychedelic visuals after sometime. I was introduced to it a few years ago while traveling through Mexico.

By engaging in longer and more intense sessions, breathers may access a deeper and more immersive state of selfdiscovery. This experience can lead to a greater level of insight, the emergence of new and enlightening thoughts, heightened awareness of one's emotional state, and improved clarity. If you are interested in diving further into your own being, longer sessions are available on my Patreon channel.   / breathewithsandy
