In this video, I share 10 different ways I save money at the grocery store and on cooking.

1. Be A Walmart Shopper

By shopping at Walmart, I am able to save over 20% on my entire grocery bill compared to many other grocery stores. In my experience, Walmart is the cheapest place to buy groceries.

2. Drop It Low Or Reach With Yo Toes

At the grocery store, there is a lot of psychology behind product placement. Generally on a shelf, the products at eye level are the most expensive products and the products at the top and bottom are the generic, cheaper products. If you bend down or reach for different products, you can save money.

3. Stay On The Edges Of The Store

At most grocery stores, the products on the outer edges of the stores are healthier and will nourish your body, and the products in the center of the store are less healthy and don't nourish your body. Don't waste money buying groceries that don't nourish your body and do most shopping on the outer edges.

4. Read Ingredients, Don’t Be Superficial

People spend a lot of money because they believe that because something is in a nicer package, it is better; however, if you read the ingredients, you often see that there is no difference. If you focus on what's inside of products, you can save money.

5. Buy In Bulk

When you buy a larger quantity of something, it is generally cheaper. For certain products that don't go bad, I choose to buy in bulk to save money.

6. Don’t Be A Trendy Pampered Chef

We often go through trends with cooking where different products are promoted like juicing, instapots, and air friers. Although these products are cool, we often use them once and then they end up sitting never to be used again. You don't need fancy cooking products to make good food.

7. Keep Your Kitchen Stocked With Foods You Enjoy

Everybody snacks and the common places people get snacks are their pantry or a drive thru. If you spend a little extra money to get foods you enjoy, you will save money in the long run because eating at home is always cheaper than eating out.

8. Double Batch For Lazy Days

Cooking can get exhausting and oftentimes we opt to eat out because we don't want to cook. Whenever you cook food, if you make two times the amount of food, you will have left overs you can eat for a day you feel lazy and don't want to cook.

9. Be Conscious of Price Per Unit

If you look at the price tags at grocery stores, they often have a "price per unit" tag that shows you which product is cheapest. Products often come in different weights, so prices can be misleading; however, if you look at this tag, you can find the cheapest option.

10. Buy Kitchen Supplies At The Thrift Store

I choose to get kitchen supplies like cups, plates, and utensils at the thrift store because they're almost the same condition as new and they are way cheaper than buying new kitchen supplies.
