PROVO, Utah — Yvonne Ejim scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and No. 18 Gonzaga secured the West Coast Conference Regular Season Title on Saturday with a 5851 win over BYU.

Ejim's threepoint play put Gonzaga up, 5045, with 2:51 to play and the Bulldogs made 8of10 free throws in the final minute.

Gonzaga (273, 171 West Coast Conference) had already clinched at least a share of the WCC Regular Season Title but is now the outright champions with the victory.

"I am really, really, proud of our team," head coach Lisa Fortier said. "We battled. It was not a pretty game, and they still found a way to win. I loved the way that we played team defense. Since it was a challenge for us offensively, we had to stop them from scoring baskets. There were very few plays that we weren't focused defensively after the first quarter. I am really happy for our team."

Ejim was 8of11 shooting and Bulldogs shot at 36 percent as a team. The top shooting team in the country was almost on point from the foul line, making 16of21, and going 12of15 alone in the fourth quarter.

McKayla Williams was the next leading scorer with nine points and Brynna Maxwell added eight for Gonzaga.

Emma Calvert scored 17 points on 6of8 shooting for the Cougars (1414, 98). Lauren Gustin had eight points, half her season average, and the Zags stopped her from reaching another double double as she recorded 24 this season.

Gonzaga outrebounded BYU 3932, with 12 of those being offensive boards. The Zags held the Cougars to a 37.3 shooting percentage and forced 13 turnovers.

Records: Yvonne Ejim recorded her eighth career double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. With it being her secondstraight double double performance, she has also scored in double figures 26 times this season.

The Zags won its 18th WCC Regular Season Title and head coach Lisa Fortier's seventh. It is the third time under Fortier that the Zags have only lost a single regular season conference game.
