After 28 years, I retired from the USAF at the rank of Colonel. This channel chronicles my Appalachian Trail ThruHike during 2016, my 2017 AT FlipFlop, as well as my interests in all thing survival, bushcraft, and the great outdoors and of course family. At Blue Mountain on the AT, mile 50.5, I earned by trail name "Big Bird."
