I live in Salem Oregon. I work 5 days a week and don’t have the budget or time to travel much. Fortunately I live in Oregon. Oregon provides a wide variety of experiences. the opportunity of being 1.5 hours from the ocean, or the mountains. I have decided to make the best I am so grateful for the variety that Oregon provides.
I did some research to find out where this state got its name and it seems to be a mystery. Best short answer I could come up with It’s a slightly different spelling of a word the Native Americans called the Columbia River. Also saw it means river to the west.
The northern border, the Columbia River, to its south border the 42nd parallel. To the east the Snake River and to the west the pacific ocean.
As of 2023 Oregon is home to 4.3 million people. 99,000 square miles It is the 9th largest state. you’ll find many large rivers, lakes, dense forest, high deserts, and of course 362 miles of coastline.
