It was late 1898 when a quiet young man named Frank Seiberling founded The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. With just a handful of employees, production began in a converted strawboard factory on the banks of the Little Cuyahoga River in Akron, Ohio.
Today, more than 120 years later, Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies. It employs about 64,000 people and manufactures its products in 47 facilities in 21 countries around the world. Its two Innovation Centers in Akron, Ohio, and ColmarBerg, Luxembourg, strive to develop stateoftheart products and services that set the technology and performance standard for the industry.
Yet one thing has never changed since its humble beginnings. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company retains its proud heritage by keeping its world headquarters in Akron, Ohio.
